In business and in personal life, it's impossible to keep everyone you deal with happy all the time.
If the other person is important, you may decide to give up and give in. Other times you can compromise or bend your rules a bit. But sometimes you just have to seem conciliatory.
One great response to a screamer is "what would you like me to do?"
That simple question quiets the screaming, encourages the person to think rationally, and implies (but does not actually promise) that you will grant the request. |
